While it should come as no surprise to many, emergent leader Tony Campolo is throwing his hand in the air and saying “Here I am send me” for a cause no committed Christian would want to take. The cause he is screaming for is that of the candidacy of Hillary Rodham Clinton for President of the United States.
In a recent article Campolo wrote for Religion News Service, he goes through a myriad of reasons as to why all Christians should vote for Hillary. These very reasons range from the fact that he considers her a personal friend, to the fact that she, as a pro-choice liberal, will actually help reduce abortions! Yes, by Tony Campolo’s standards, it is a woman who tows the democratic party line by saying that the murdering of a baby should be “safe, legal, and rare.”
It should also come as no surprise that just as Campolo has been seen as somewhat of a champion for gay marriage, so will his choice for the candidate of presidency. In a video made announcing Hillary’s candidacy, two men are seen holding hands while discussing the plans for their upcoming wedding. The idea was that the next season of their lives would be them taking each others hand in marriage, while Hillary would be hoping to move into the White House.
Campolo went on to say that he would do more than simply ask you to vote, but even be involved in the campaign if asked:
“I am more than willing to do all I can to help Hillary Clinton get elected. Should she ask me to organize an Evangelicals for Hillary committee, I would be more than willing to do so. I believe in her. And you should too.”
If only Mr. Campolo would actually believe in the God he claims to serve. If only Campolo would trust God’s word and not lean on his own understanding and his subjective view of morality. If only Campolo would consider what God’s Word has said on the subject of abortion as well as gay marriage. Pray that this false teacher would repent and come to know the true God of the bible. For God is patient, even with those leading others astray.
“But I have this against you, that you tolerate the woman Jezebel, who calls herself a prophetess, and she teaches and leads My bond-servants astray so that they commit acts of immorality and eat things sacrificed to idols. I gave her time to repent, and she does not want to repent of her immorality.” –Revelation 2:20-21
